A weight-loss programme to help men in Richmond upon Thames live healthier lives will be trialled in January.
The programme, delivered by Brentford FC Community Sports Trust’s exercise specialists, will run over 12 weeks at Hampton Sports and Fitness Centre.
It’s open to men aged between 40 and 60 who either live in the borough or attend a local GP.
Those who sign up will attend two sessions a week, which will include indoor and outdoor group fitness sessions, healthy eating workshops, and top tips for lifestyle changes.
The programme only costs £5 per week and upon completion, you will receive one month’s free membership at Gold Feel Fitness.
Paul, who lives in Twickenham, benefited from a similar project that Brentford FC Community Sports Trust ran. He said:
“This course has made a profound change to my life: I go jogging every day now and I have joined a gym in Twickenham.
“I am quite confident that these are changes that I will be able to sustain long term.”
Cllr Piers Allen, Cabinet Member for Adult Social Services and Health said:
“This is a great opportunity for men in the borough looking to start the new year by getting fitter, healthier and losing weight, with the support of qualified trainers. If you are interested, please do sign up.”
Residents looking to get fit and healthy this year can also sign up to the Council’s Feel Good Fitness Membership which gives you access to over 200 classes, 4 pools and five gyms with tailored services and qualified instructors on hand to help with your fitness goals.
