If you’re a regular train user, you’d have noticed the signs and notices telling you for the past few months that between 5 and 28 August inclusive, fewer trains services will run while work starts to extend platforms at London Waterloo.
These works will have an impact on train services from Hampton as a result of the line at Norbiton Station being closed.
In the morning, two trains per hour will call at all stations between Shepperton and Fulwell and then direct to Twickenham. In the evening, two trains per hour will run direct from Twickenham to Fulwell and then all stations to Shepperton.
All other services heading into London will go to Kingston, before turning round and running to London via Twickenham and Richmond. This will add approximately 25 minutes to your typical journey.
We’re told where possible, commuters should try to travel outside the morning and evening peak – something that maybe more easier said than done if you have to go to work.
