Major disruption for rail travelers next summer

South West Trains are warning people to stay away from Central London next summer if you are one of thousands of people who commute into Waterloo on a daily basis.

Between 5 – 28 August 2017, platforms one to nine will be completely closed at Waterloo as part of a huge upgrade programme which will increase the lengths of the platforms to allow future 10 carriage trains.

This will mean far fewer trains will be terminating at the station, and seeing as how Kingston Loop and Shepperton line trains make use of platforms 1 – 4, be prepared for local Hampton services to be the services which suffer the most.

South West Trains are giving passengers an early warning, to help people plan possible summer holidays around the time of the disruption. Full timetables of the changes are expected to be published early in 2017.
