Many local residents suffered from a loss of water during Sunday evening, as Thames Water carried out emergency repairs to a water leak on Chestnut Avenue (pictured).
Water was shut off around 6pm on the 11 March to allow engineers to make a temporary repair to the leak, however according to Thames Water, the area affected by the shut off was ‘larger than anticpated’, which caused many people to flock to Twitter to find out what was wrong.
By 9pm, water had been restored to most properties.
UPDATE: Thames Water have later commented that a further, permanent repair will take place overnight to minimise disruption, from 12.01am March 12, affecting the water supply again to those residents.
UPDATE 2: Thames Water has confirmed that the repair was completed, and water supplies were restored in the early hours of the morning.
