Fire at Marling Court Care Home

A fire at Marling Court Care Home, Bramble Lane, was reported to London Fire Brigade shortly after 1am on Thursday 22nd June.

Six fire engines and 35 firefighters and officers from Twickenham, Feltham and Heston were called to the scene, with the first appliances arriving within minutes.

The kitchen, roof and an adjoining bin store were damaged by the fire which was brought under control approximately two hours later.

Thirty-three residents and staff were evacuated from Marling Court as a precaution by London Fire Brigade and the police, and were offered shelter at The Hampton pub nearby.

The local YMCA White House also assisted, and Richmond Council has offered ongoing support.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
